How it works

We try to operate the night as fairly as possible - for the Monday and Thursdays nights it is advisable to pre-book a slot to avoid disappointment! For the Hogarth it is all sign up on the chalk board - first come, first served! But please do turn up early - This guarantees that even the first performer in front of the mic has an audience!

Is there a PA?
A PA is provided with a couple of decent mics and stands.

But does it sound any good?
Yes! The sound in the venue is vital to the nights Ben puts on - he evaluates the PA and the room before he puts on an event, as well as checking instruments sound as good as they can before you play and during your performance. He has been lectured on the subject of sound engineering and music technology for over 16 years - you are in good hands.

Can I bring an amp?
Sure you can! There's not a lot of room for one, but we'll try to accommodate you if you really must have your stadium sound...

How long can I play for?
Usually, each slot is for about 15 minutes or so - three songs.

Is there going to be a drumkit?
The performance space is pretty limited, but there might be a little drumkit, or a cajon. Feel free to bring your own percussion though!
